Questions
How much does it cost to take payments?
Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay are free to turn on, on any event. RSVPlinks charges 6% + 50¢ per payment, and you choose whether the guest pays it on top or you cover it. On a $30 fee paid by the guest: $30.00 + $2.30 service fee (6% + 50¢) = $32.30 USD. Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App and cash go straight to you with no cut; they need the RSVP Fee add-on ($6 or 1 credit) on a paid event.
When do I get the money?
Card payments are paid out to your bank every Monday once your balance reaches $25; a smaller balance goes out after 30 days with no new payment. In a month where the fees on your card payments don't cover Stripe's payout costs, the difference (about $3.50 at most) comes out of the payout. "Pay out now" sends your balance any time for $1, from $5. App payments (Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Cash App, Alipay, LINE Pay, WeChat Pay) reach you directly as guests send them, and you mark each one received.
What do I need to set up card payments?
A free RSVPlinks account and a Stripe account, which you set up from the RSVP Fee tab: your name, date of birth, the last 4 of your SSN and a bank account. RSVPlinks never sees them. Card payments are charged in US dollars.
Can guests pay before their RSVP counts?
Yes. With Payment first, the form ends with a secure card form and the RSVP sends itself once the payment goes through. With Pay now or later, the reply waits as Pending Payment and the guest gets a link to pay any time.
Can I charge per person or a different price for kids?
Yes. Set a flat fee per RSVP or a price per person, with an optional child price. The guest sees the total for their party before paying.
Can I refund a guest?
RSVPlinks' service fee isn't refundable to you. When you refund an RSVP Fee, you choose: give the guest everything back (the fee then comes out of your balance), or everything but the service fee (nothing comes out of your balance). A group gift refund gives everything back.
Do paying guests get a ticket?
Yes. A paid guest's confirmation email is their receipt and carries a QR ticket you scan at the door with the free check-in scanner.
Can a group chip in for a gift the same way?
Yes. Group gifts take contributions by card with the same 6% + 50¢ fee, or by app straight to the organizer with no fee, on an event, a group card or on their own.
